As the main production area of Shengli Oilfield, it concentrates 85% of Shengli Oilfield's production and 80% of petroleum geological reserves. Dongying is an important production area of the Bohai Oilfield. 20% of the crude oil reserves, 33% of the natural gas reserves and 16% of the crude oil production of the Bohai Oilfield are concentrated along the coast of Dongying. The Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field to be developed have proven natural gas reserves of 100 billion cubic meters, all within the jurisdiction of Dongying maritime affairs. The city has more than 3.7 million mu of unused land, 109.7 billion tons of rock salt resources, 1.189 billion cubic meters of brine, 344.7 billion cubic meters of geothermal reserves, 413 kilometers of coastline, and nearly 6000 square kilometers of tidal flats and shallow seas. The city's one-time water storage capacity is 1 billion cubic meters.
Convenient transportation
As an important node city of the coastal high-speed rail and the second channel of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, it will take 1.5 hours to Beijing and 4 hours to Shanghai after the completion of the high-speed rail. It has 3 railways (two horizontal and one vertical) and 3 expressways of Rongcheng-Wuhai Expressway, Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway and Dongying-Lvliang Expressway. Dongying Shengli Airport has opened 18 air routes to 16 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, etc., and the same-day round trip to Beijing and Shanghai has been achieved. Dongying Port is a national first-class open port with 57 berths. It is the largest special port for oil and liquid chemicals in the Bohai Rim.

With radial tire production capacity of 194 million accounting for one-fifth of the country, 7 tire companies of Dongying have ranked in the world's top 75, making this city be the largest rubber tire production base in China. Aerospace industry
Development status
A 20.11 square kilometer airport industrial park was planned, and the only flight test base invested and constructed by COMAC except Shanghai Pudong-the Dongying base of COMAC Civil Aircraft Test Center is built. The 2018 COMAC Global Supplier Conference and the 2019 COMAC C919 Project Mid-term Supplier Conference were held in Dongying. The Beihang Dongying Research Institute project has landed with an academician leading a team to participate in research and development all year round, undertaking Beidou satellite navigation, aircraft calibration, airport electromagnetic spectrum monitoring and other system research.
Development goals
By 2025, the airport's supporting services and support facilities will be upgraded and completed, and more than two base airlines will serve Dongying Shengli Airport. Development status
The oil equipment production capacity accounting for 70% of the province and one-third of the country. Dongying owns a unique national oil production equipment engineering technology research center and the country's first B2B cross-border e-commerce platform of petroleum equipment , which is the largest oil equipment manufacturing base in China. It built the second domestic API (American Petroleum Institute) certification training center, the country's first national quality supervision and inspection center for petroleum equipment products, and a China (Dongying) International Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment and Technology Exhibition with UF-certified.

Petrochemical industry
Development status
The primary processing capacity of crude oil is 72.2 million tons, accounting for about one-tenth of the country and one-third of the province. It has 34.55 million tons of imported crude oil index, thus the prefecture-level city with the largest local refining capacity in China, creating a China (Dongying) International Petrochemical Trade Fair of "national brand".
Development goals
Relying on the PX project, it will integrate refining and chemical production capacity upwards, and build oil refining equipment processing tens of millions tons of oil; extend the aromatics industry chain downward, and focus on the construction of new material projects such as PTA, new polyester, and modified resin.
